Here you will find specific orthoses for the foot, ankle, and lower leg. Orthoses for foot drop and slack foot are the largest group in this range. Foot drop can be caused by weakness or paralysis of the muscles involved in lifting the front of the foot upwards which causes the foot to drag. Causes of foot drop may include nerve damage and can come from various diseases such as a stroke, MS, Cerebral Palsy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Syndrome. With foot drop, an Allard AFO (Ankle-Foot-Orthosis) can be very helpful to facilitate walking. The range also includes stabilizing ankle protection and simple ankle supports that can be part of a treatment for an injury or used for preventive purposes.
