Applied Biomechanics in the Management of Partial Foot Amputations

 

The incidence of Partial Foot Amputations (PFA) is increasing associated with the increased incidence of obesity and diabetes. Management of these amputation can be challenging because some interventions may do more harm than good. This course uncovers the biomechanics of the amputated foot and describes intervention techniques that serve to preserve the residual foot while helping to restore functional gait.
